Dry shampoo is simply the best! I can't get enough of it, and my clients are always really impressed when they're introduced to it. Dry shampoo is not only great for freshening up a style, it can also be used to build body and texture into the hair. I start most up-dos with a bit of dry shampoo, which roughs up the hair, and builds a great base for the hair style.
1. Psssssst
Psssssst (yes that's the name, and oh so fun to say) is one of the best dry shampoos on the market. Psssssst debuted in the 1970's and has recently made a comeback. It's inexpensive (a bottle runs around $7) and the throwback packaging and cool name make it a great conversation starter with your clients.
2. Blowpro Faux Dry Dry Shampoo
Blowpro Faux Dry, dry shampoo is a favorite among stylists and clients. The Blow Salon is a leader of the pack in the land of blow dry bars, and these guys definitely know how to make that blowout last. Their dry shampoo is designed to extend all that hard work you've huffed and puffed into your client's hair.
Pro Tip - Instead of brushing dry shampoo throughout the hair, try massaging and blending it in with your finger and hands to add more lift, body and texture.
3. Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray - By Oscar Blandi
This fantastic dry shampoo intantly volumizes and freshens hair without leaving any white powdery residue. The formula is clear which allows you to use it on any type of hair color. This product also contains wheat protein and vitamin E to strengthen and protect the hair.
4. Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo
Looking for a great all natural dry shampoo? Then Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo is the one for you. On top of using all natural ingredients, this product is light and airy, and doesn't cause build up like some other dry shampoos on the market. Oat extracts nourish the hair, and you can bet this product is paraben and sulfate free.
5. Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo
Tropical scent aside, this dry shampoo is a great bang for your buck, and it will leave your style fresh and revitalized for days to come.
6. Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder
Bumble and bumble hair powder is a favorite among editorial hair stylists. These powders have a very matte texture and conveniently come in five different colors of white, black, red, brown and blonde. This dry shampoo is especially great for red-heads since red hair powder can be hard to find. Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder comes in spray form but was originally made as a loose powder. Though the latter can be messy, if you can find it, buy it. Personally, I think it's even better than the spray formula, even though the one currently on the market is fabulous.
7. Ojon Rub Out Dry Cleanser
This dry shampoo is a favorite among stylists for creating tons of volume and being very user friendly. Most dry shampoos have to be brushed out to distribute the powder but this one can simply be shaken or rubbed out with the hands. It's a great product for clients on the go who won't be carrying a brush around with them.
